Mecca: (RightNow) The Saudi military coalition has successfully intercepted and destroyed a Houthi drone before it could enter Mecca’s airspace. This action was taken to protect Saudi Arabia’s secure airspace.

According to the Saudi military coalition, the Houthi drone was stopped before it could enter the prohibited airspace over Mecca. This operation ensured the protection of the holy sites.

The military coalition has stated that the protection of the two holy mosques is a red line. All possible measures will be taken against the Houthis.

It is noteworthy that this was the second attempt by the Houthis to target Mecca. Previously, in July 2017, a ballistic missile was launched.

Recently, sirens were sounded in Jazan, Abha, and Khamis Mushait due to potential threats. On Monday, 13 civilians were injured in Houthi attacks.
