Islamabad: (RightNow) Defense Minister Khawaja Asif states that no agreement is needed for the protection of Makkah. He clarified this during a discussion on a private TV program.

Khawaja Asif emphasized that safeguarding holy sites is our duty, and the Makkah agreement does not need enforcement. He added that we are committed to implementing the Makkah agreement.

He mentioned that if tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis increase, Pakistan and Turkey will stand with Saudi Arabia. Both countries will support Saudi Arabia practically and diplomatically.

Khawaja Asif noted that Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia continue, and supporting Iran in these circumstances is not wise. He stated that Iran’s chances are slim, but Pakistan has made its stance clear.

It is important to note that opening new fronts amid Iran’s current tensions with the US and Israel is not prudent. Escalating the situation could prove dangerous.
