Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz states that the province is becoming a global example in wildlife conservation. She reports that 50,000 birds and 1,020 animals have been rescued through modern and effective measures.
To enforce wildlife laws in Punjab, 14,700 challans and 1,050 FIRs have been filed. Additionally, 104 protected areas and 3 rehabilitation centers have been established.
A team of 544 trained wildlife rangers is working to prevent harmful activities. Thermal drones and AI surveys have been launched to protect the Punjab dolphin.
The wildlife helpline addressed 950 complaints, and 13 modern rescue vehicles have been added. Veterinary hospitals and mobile clinic projects have been initiated for the treatment of wild animals.
It is noteworthy that effective amendments have been made to wildlife protection laws in Punjab, and a technology-equipped wildlife census has been completed.
