Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has announced the establishment of a telemedicine center at PIMS Hospital. This initiative aims to reduce the patient load and provide treatment facilities at home.

Minister Mustafa Kamal visited PIMS Hospital and reviewed the progress of the fire safety audit. He also issued directives to improve the HVAC system to ensure better cooling for patients and staff.

He instructed the launch of the telemedicine center to reduce patient congestion at PIMS Hospital. Additionally, he directed a campaign to raise awareness about the Prime Minister’s Health Card facilities.

Free treatment is available at 15 panel hospitals in Islamabad. The Health Minister instructed to inform citizens of Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan about free treatment through the Health Card.

It is noteworthy that last week, a fire in the nursery ward at PIMS resulted in the death of 14 newborns. A high-level inquiry committee was formed to investigate the incident, leading to the suspension of 8 individuals.
