Heavy rains in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have dangerously raised the Nala Lai water level.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Intense rainfall in Rawalpindi and Islamabad has flooded low-lying areas. Authorities have announced a holiday for educational institutions.
The rain began at 3:20 AM and continued until 8:00 AM. Roads resemble ponds, with water accumulating in several places.
The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi reported 200 millimeters of rainfall, raising the water level in Nala Lai. The army has been deployed around Nala Lai and Gawalmandi.
The water level in Nala Lai has reached a dangerous height, prompting evacuation orders for residents. Operations to drain water from low-lying areas are ongoing.
It is noteworthy that Rawalpindi has recorded the highest rainfall in three years. All agencies are active to ensure citizens’ safety.
