Khunjerab Pass Boosts Pakistan-China Trade, Expands Export Opportunities

Islamabad: (RightNow) Trade activities through Khunjerab Pass have significantly increased between Pakistan and China. This expansion is enhancing access for Pakistani products to markets in China and Central Asia.

According to Pakistan Customs, a record revenue of 15 billion rupees was generated from imports through Khunjerab Pass during the fiscal year 2025-26. In the previous fiscal year, this revenue was 13.67 billion rupees.

Pakistan Customs officials report that Pakistani products worth 2.8 billion rupees were exported to China and Central Asian countries via Khunjerab Pass. Exports have increased under the TRI system.

Products exported through Khunjerab Pass include surgical instruments, garments, rice, leather goods, and handicrafts. Effective checks have also been implemented to prevent smuggling.

It is noteworthy that Khunjerab Pass is creating new opportunities for Pakistan to access the vast markets of China and Central Asia. This is expected to increase the global reach of national products.
