North Korea’s ballistic missile test prompts South Korea to boost defense readiness.
Seoul: (RightNow) South Korea accuses North Korea of conducting a ballistic missile test. In response, Seoul has heightened surveillance and defense preparations.
According to the South Korean military, North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile towards the eastern sea of the Korean Peninsula on Thursday. Japan has also confirmed this.
The South Korean military has intensified monitoring in anticipation of further missile tests. Information exchange with the US and Japan continues.
This test is part of North Korea’s series of weapon trials. Professor Lim Eul Chul suggests it is a message ahead of joint military exercises by South Korea and the US.
It is noteworthy that North Korea conducted multiple launch rocket system and tactical ballistic missile tests in June. These tests may be linked to recent statements by Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong.
