Washington: (RightNow) U.S. President Donald Trump urges aides to prepare for a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. U.S. officials state Trump has directed steps for a direct meeting with Kim Jong Un.

The meeting is expected during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in November, according to a U.S. newspaper report. Foreign media note the last meeting between Trump and Kim Jong Un occurred in June 2019.

Meetings also took place in June 2018 and February 2019, but no permanent agreement was reached. North Korea continues to expand its nuclear arsenal.

It is noteworthy that Trump made history in 2019 by stepping onto North Korean soil. This was the first such move by a U.S. president during a meeting with Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un recently inspected Hwasong-11 missiles, which, according to South Korea, have a range of 80 kilometers.
