Peshawar: (RightNow) Torrential rains and floods have wreaked havoc in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These incidents have resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to 14 others.

According to rescue officials, floods in Khyber’s Landi Kotal and Jamrud have claimed 6 lives. An Afghan family’s vehicle was also swept away by the floodwaters.

Rescue teams have safely evacuated 13 people near Torkham, while the bodies of 3 deceased individuals have been recovered. Vehicles stranded on the Pak-Afghan highway have been moved to safer locations.

Due to heavy rains, houses and shops in Neelum Valley, Mansehra, and other cities have been damaged. Mudslides in Kaghan Valley have blocked roads.

It is important to note that PDMA has issued a rain alert, warning of potential river flooding and urban flooding due to further expected rains.
