Islamabad: (RightNow) The federal government has decided to export 200,000 metric tons of surplus sugar. The steering committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, has made significant decisions regarding this.
The purchase of sugar for export will be done through LC at sight or advance payment. The steering committee has made this decision to facilitate exporters.
No final shipment date has been set for the sugar export. Reporting of export proceeds will be in accordance with State Bank regulations.
This decision is crucial for improving the national economy and reducing the hoarding of surplus sugar. Increasing exports will boost foreign exchange reserves.
It is noteworthy that sugar production in Pakistan has increased, necessitating the export of surplus sugar.
