Islamabad: (RightNow) The Pakistan Hockey League (PHL) will officially launch on October 14, 2026, in Islamabad. This initiative is a significant step towards the revival and modern development of national hockey.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation has granted media rights for PHL to Media Cast to modernize the hockey infrastructure in the country. The first season of this league will commence in 2027.
PHF and Media Cast are preparing for the first season with 6 to 8 franchise teams. International players will also participate, providing global opportunities for Pakistani players.
The league will attract franchise owners and corporate sponsors, boosting hockey promotion and financial support. PHL will offer hockey professionals the chance to work with experienced experts.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan has won Olympic gold medals, World Cups, and Asian Games in hockey. The launch of PHL marks a significant advancement towards a modern system based on investment and professional structure.
