Islamabad: (RightNow) With the end of monsoon rains, the dengue season has begun across the country. Islamabad’s district health department has identified over 7,000 dengue hotspots.

Near PIMS Hospital, heaps of garbage in front of the Mother and Child and Children’s Hospital have become breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes. Old tires, drums, and water-filled buckets harbor dengue larvae.

Women and children visiting PIMS Hospital face the threat of dengue. Water accumulates in garbage piles in front of MCH, with dengue larvae clearly visible in old tires and buckets.

Poor sanitation in front of the Mother and Child Hospital and Children’s Hospital has worsened the situation. Effective measures to prevent mosquito breeding during the dengue season are necessary, but PIMS administration and CDA lack proper sanitation arrangements.

It is important to note that dengue mosquitoes breed in clean water, and measures for cleanliness and larvae eradication are crucial to prevent its spread.
