Cagnes-sur-Mer: (RightNow) Two valuable paintings by renowned artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir have been stolen during a burglary at the Renoir Museum in France. The thieves left two other artworks in the museum’s garden before fleeing.

According to the mayor, two well-prepared thieves entered the museum. They used a metal saw to cut the frames of the paintings and grabbed four artworks when the alarm sounded.

The stolen paintings include ‘Madame Colonna Romano’ and ‘Jeune Femme au Chapeau.’ Their combined value is approximately €9 million.

Police have launched a search for the thieves. This incident is being considered a new link in the chain of museum thefts in France.

It is noteworthy that there has been an increase in art thefts from museums in France in recent times.
