Karachi: (RightNow) WhatsApp has launched a new password feature to protect user accounts. This feature, under two-step verification, will provide stronger security for users.

WhatsApp announced the replacement of the traditional 6-digit PIN with a password. The password will include letters and numbers to safeguard accounts from hacking.

According to WhatsApp, the aim of this change is to make accounts more secure. This change is being introduced gradually and will be available to all users within a few weeks.

It is noteworthy that users previously used a 6-digit PIN. Now, with the help of a password, accounts will receive better protection.

Users can open WhatsApp, go to settings, click on two-step verification, and create a new password. The password must include at least 8 characters.
