PIMS Hospital Islamabad stops new maternity cases due to capacity issues, transferring patients to other hospitals.
Islamabad: (RightNow) PIMS Hospital administration has refused to accept new maternity cases. Executive Director Rana Imran Sikandar confirmed this decision.
Rana Imran Sikandar stated that the hospital cannot accommodate more patients beyond its capacity. Therefore, they are declining new maternity cases.
He mentioned that 15 beds in the children’s nursery have been damaged. Originally, there were 50 beds, and now only 35 remain. Patients will be referred to other hospitals in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The hospital administration has sent letters to other hospitals. Some children have already been transferred to Polyclinic.
It is important to note that this step was taken due to the increasing number of patients at PIMS Hospital. The administration has decided to enhance cooperation with other hospitals for patient convenience.
