Islamabad: (RightNow) Serious administrative negligence has been revealed at PIMS Hospital following a fire incident. The absence of fire safety drills has highlighted training deficiencies among staff.

Sources indicate that emergency fire drills have not been conducted for several years, leaving staff untrained for emergencies. Fire safety drills are considered mandatory every 6 months.

Sources reported that during the fire, oxygen cylinders contributed to the spread, and emergency exit gates were found closed. The alarm system also failed to activate.
