Punjab local elections set for December to January, approved by Election Commission.
Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab government has proposed dates for local elections from December 15 to January 15. The Election Commission has given its principal agreement on these dates.
The proposal was presented during an Election Commission meeting regarding Punjab local elections. The commission agreed to conduct elections during the proposed dates.
The meeting also suggested holding the elections in phases to improve security and management.
The Election Commission states that during December and January, student exams will be over, and fog will be reduced.
It is noteworthy that the delimitation process for Punjab local elections is complete, and the Election Commission has instructed to present a phased election plan soon.
