Lahore: (RightNow) An alarming report reveals that 96 lakh children are out of school in Punjab. This disclosure was made by the School Education Department in the Punjab Assembly.

According to the School Education Department, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics’ 2023 census indicates that 96 lakh children aged 5 to 16 are not attending school. The highest numbers are reported in 30 tehsils across Punjab.

The School Education Department states that various initiatives have been launched to bring out-of-school children back to classrooms. Several measures are being implemented under the school enrollment campaign.
