Landslides in Kaghan and Naran block Gilgit Road; tourists advised to avoid travel.
Peshawar: (RightNow) Heavy rains have caused landslides in Kaghan and Naran, blocking the Gilgit Road and halting traffic.
According to the Kaghan Development Authority, landslides occurred on the Saif-ul-Malook Lake Road and at Batakundi. Machinery and staff have arrived at the site.
Authorities have reopened the Saif-ul-Malook route, but tourists are advised not to visit due to the risk of further landslides.
For the safety of tourists, roads remain closed. Citizens are advised to check road conditions before traveling.
It is noteworthy that the Batakundi Road was temporarily opened, but further landslides have caused it to close again, affecting the route to Gilgit.
