Atlanta: (RightNow) A laptop caught fire on an American Airlines flight from Atlanta to Dallas. The incident resulted in injuries to 5 passengers.

According to American media, the incident occurred on American Airlines flight 2398, which was carrying 133 passengers. Smoke emerged from a laptop in the rear of the plane, leading to a fire.

The pilot informed air traffic control about the cabin fire, and flight attendants attempted to extinguish it. The fire was brought under control after five minutes.

Despite the incident, the plane safely landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where medical staff examined the passengers. American Airlines praised the crew’s swift action.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Aviation Administration reports 58 incidents of in-flight lithium battery fires this year.
