Armed men attacked polling stations in GBA-17, Gilgit-Baltistan, seizing ballot boxes and causing staff to go missing.
Gilgit-Baltistan: (Right Now News) Incidents of irregularities and violence occurred in the electoral process of GBA-17 Darel, Gilgit-Baltistan. The returning officer has sent a detailed report to the deputy commissioner.
The report from the returning officer states that armed men attacked six polling stations. They seized ballot boxes and fled the scene.
According to the report, polling staff were harassed and subjected to violence at some locations. The staff from two polling stations is missing.
Due to these incidents, the electoral records and Form 45 from several polling stations have not yet reached the RO office.
It is noteworthy that the constituency was declared highly sensitive before the election, yet attacks occurred.
