Lahore: (Right Now News) Punjab has witnessed a dangerous rise in AIDS cases, with the number of affected patients exceeding 45,000.

Across Punjab, 45,391 individuals are affected by AIDS, with 32,254 receiving treatment, while over 13,000 remain untreated.

Among the affected, over 31,000 are men, 9,510 are women, and 2,514 are transgender individuals. The spread among children is also alarming, with over 1,900 children under 14 affected.

Lahore is the most affected city, with over 10,000 patients, while Faisalabad has 5,000 and Multan over 3,000 cases.

It is important to note that 37% of children with AIDS in Punjab are without treatment, highlighting a severe situation.
