The Power Division has clarified the severe power outage nationwide, urging reduced nighttime electricity use.
Islamabad: (Right Now News) The Power Division has issued a clarification regarding the severe power outage across the country.
The spokesperson for the Power Division stated that last night, a reduction of 1991 megawatts in hydropower generation was recorded, leading distribution companies to implement additional load management. There was a shortfall of approximately 4500 megawatts.
The statement mentioned that the decrease in hydropower is due to reduced water discharge from dams. This is attributed to lower water demand from provinces and recent rainfall.
According to the spokesperson, the total demand last night was 18,000 megawatts. An increase in water discharge is expected in the coming days, which will improve power generation.
It is important to note that the spokesperson has appealed to consumers to use less electricity during nighttime and adhere to conservation principles.
