Islamabad: (Right Now News) Following a reduction in petroleum product prices, petrol pump owners nationwide have demanded an increase in their profit margins from the government.

President of the Petroleum Dealers Association, Akhtar Nawaz, stated in a press conference that the dealers’ margin should be increased from 1.5% to 8%. He also urged the authorities to impose restrictions on illegal dealers and requested local district administrations to refrain from harassing petroleum dealers under the guise of inspections.

Akhtar Nawaz emphasized that the authorities should stop the misuse of laws against dealers and the harassment should cease. He further suggested that there should be additional reductions in petroleum product prices.

He added that due to peace talks between Iran and the United States, they have postponed their strike, but warned that petrol pumps would automatically shut down if their demands are not met.

It is important to note that this demand from petroleum dealers comes at a time when a reduction in petroleum product prices has affected their profits.
