Peshawar: (RightNow) Chief Minister Suhail Afridi emphasizes the right to peaceful protest, stating that bureaucracy and police are being threatened. He mentioned that plainclothes individuals are intimidating government officials, making protests necessary.

He informed the provincial cabinet meeting that recent attacks on government officials have occurred. An attack on Minister Shakeel Khan was thwarted, and the Irrigation Minister’s home was also targeted. This situation across multiple districts has alarmed the government.

The Chief Minister stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s fear stems from the people’s power. Rana Sanaullah’s remarks labeling the province as terrorist have been deemed unacceptable.

He added that attempts to block Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s routes are akin to Eastern Pakistan conspiracies. He asserted that any plot to divide Pakistan will be thwarted.

It is important to note that attacks and abduction attempts by plainclothes individuals pose a challenge to the government. Peaceful protest is a constitutional right that will continue to secure public rights.
