Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab Assembly Secretariat has enforced new austerity and fuel-saving measures. Government transport expenses are reduced by 50%, and security vehicles are limited to one escort.

To save energy, unnecessary lights are turned off, aiming for a 70% energy saving. Assembly sessions will be scheduled before sunset.

Standing committee meetings will be held online, and there is a complete ban on purchasing new vehicles, except for procurement processes.

Punjab Assembly members and officials are banned from foreign trips, except for international development scholarships, and members will travel in economy class.

It is noteworthy that the Punjab Assembly has decided to adopt a paperless working environment. The Austerity Committee will ensure the implementation of these measures.
