Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has announced the schedule for elections to fill four vacant seats in the Kashmir Council. Polling will take place on October 12, and candidates can submit their nomination papers starting October 1.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will occur on October 2 at 10 AM. Appeals can be filed on October 5, with hearings scheduled for October 6. Decisions will be announced on the same day.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations until October 7, and the final list will be released on October 9. Voting will be held in the Legislative Assembly Hall from 10 AM to 1 PM on polling day.

Results will be announced immediately after the elections, allowing new members to join the Kashmir Council. These elections hold significant importance for the political landscape of Azad Kashmir.
