Peshawar: (RightNow) Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan states that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) no longer exists. He advises the party leadership to choose negotiations over protests.

In an interview, Mahmood Khan mentioned that court cases will only see date changes, hence the leadership should pursue negotiations. He noted that the September 27 protest will not secure Imran Khan’s release.

According to him, if protest demonstrations worsen the situation, PTI will suffer the consequences. He recalled that in October 2025, Imran Khan selected Suhail Afridi for the Chief Minister role, despite his lack of government experience.

Mahmood Khan revealed that during Imran Khan’s tenure, an in-camera meeting decided to bring back individuals associated with TTP. This decision was collectively made by the leadership.

It is noteworthy that in 2023, Shah Mahmood Qureshi advised Imran Khan to dissolve the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, which the leadership opposed. Mahmood Khan stated that leaving the party was a necessity to avoid damage.
