Peshawar: (RightNow) The Peshawar Consumer Court has ruled that charging extra for carrying bags with brand logos is illegal. The court delivered its verdict on a petition against the Rs 30 charge from consumers.

The court imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on a popular clothing brand. The company is ordered to refund Rs 30 to the plaintiff and pay Rs 25,000 in damages.

The company is also directed to deposit an additional Rs 25,000 fine into the government treasury. Judge Nasrullah Khan Gandapur announced this decision.

This ruling is considered significant for consumer rights protection. It serves as a lesson for other companies to avoid unnecessary charges from consumers.
