Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab’s subordinate courts have abolished the 150-year-old recruitment system. The Lahore High Court’s full court has approved new rules, ending direct recruitment by session judges.

Session judges no longer have the authority to directly recruit staff for subordinate courts. Under the new system, all positions from Naib Qasid to Grade 16 will be filled through the Lahore High Court Secretariat.

According to the new system, if there is a staff shortage in any district, the session judge will inform the DG Establishment of the vacancies. The DG Establishment will review and forward the recruitment case to the Lahore High Court Secretariat.

Candidates will be recruited based on merit after a written exam and interview. The Lahore High Court has established a clear and transparent recruitment process to ensure fairness in judicial appointments.

It is noteworthy that session judges previously had the power to make direct recruitments, which has now been revoked. The Punjab government will soon issue a notification for the new rules.
