Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab government has decided to introduce an ordinance against teachers with poor exam results. This decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting expressed dissatisfaction over the ninth-grade exam results and agreed to link student outcomes with teacher performance. Legal action will be taken under the new ordinance.

The Chief Minister ordered the initiation of monthly and annual exams in every class and immediate action for results below 20% in ninth grade. A reforms plan is to be presented next week.

Rewards were announced for schools with excellent results, and emphasis was placed on evening coaching for weaker students. The completion of head teacher positions within 45 days was also ordered.

It is noteworthy that the ‘Library on Wheels’ project is also being launched, featuring over 20,000 digital books. This initiative aims to improve educational standards.
