New York: (RightNow) New York City has been ranked as the top sports city in the world in a list of 100 cities. Paris holds the second position, Los Angeles is third, while London and Madrid are fourth and fifth respectively.

The Swiss organization Burson’s 2026 sports cities ranking includes 100 cities worldwide. Unfortunately, no Pakistani city made it to the list. Barcelona is ranked sixth, Milan seventh, and Lausanne eighth.

In the global sports cities list, Washington is 11th and Miami 12th. Tokyo is 16th, Sydney 24th, and Dubai 29th. Mumbai is 51st, New Delhi 65th, and Riyadh 68th.

Experts, sports media, and global sports leaders’ opinions were included in the rankings. Social media and media coverage analysis were also part of the ranking criteria.

It is noteworthy that the list considers cities’ association with sports, hosting of international sports events, and influence in the sports sector.
