Islamabad: (RightNow) The government has clarified the procedure for a Rs 100 per liter petrol subsidy. During a press conference with federal ministers Atta Tarar and Ali Pervaiz Malik, Shaza Fatima announced that relief will be provided to owners of 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and vehicles up to 800cc.

Shaza Fatima stated that 2 and 3-wheeler vehicles will receive relief on 20 liters of petrol, while vehicles up to 800cc will receive a subsidy on 30 liters of petrol.

She explained that the program consists of two parts, with the first part requiring registration. Users must send a message with REG, their ID card number, the first letter of their province, and the vehicle’s registration date to 9771 from the SIM registered on their ID card.

Shaza Fatima further mentioned that after registration, users must send a message with TOK to 9771 when purchasing petrol. The received token must be shown at the petrol pump to avail the subsidy.

It is important to note that residents of Islamabad can avail the relief from the night of September 14-15, while the rest of the country can benefit from the night of September 16-17. The Ministry of IT, in collaboration with NADRA and telecom operators, has developed an automated digital system.
