The federal government has approved a risk allowance for officers in 26 hard areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, effective from 2026.
Peshawar: (RightNow) The federal government has designated 26 districts in 6 regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as hard areas. This decision is based on the situation in districts affected by terrorism.
The Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received a letter from the Establishment Division Islamabad. The letter confirmed the recognition of these districts as hard areas.
According to the letter, security risk allowance has been approved for districts including Peshawar, Khyber, Mardan, Charsadda, and Mohmand. This allowance will be effective from July 1, 2026.
The security risk allowance will be 250% of the officers’ basic salary. The federal government will provide this allowance. Officers in Swabi and Hazara divisions will not receive this allowance.
It is noteworthy that the threat of terrorism is increasing in some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Due to this situation, the federal government has taken these measures.
