Health Minister Mustafa Kamal claims 14-month performance in health sector surpasses last 30 years, highlighting healthcare as a national security issue.
Karachi: (RightNow) Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal claims his ministry’s 14-month performance in the health sector surpasses the last 30 years. He made this statement during the Health Asia International Exhibition at Expo Center Karachi.
During the exhibition, the Health Minister met with local and international exhibitors and toured various stalls. He stated that healthcare is a perpetual necessity that will remain as long as the world exists.
Mustafa Kamal highlighted the rapid population growth, noting that hospitals are already overburdened. He mentioned Pakistan’s population is approximately 260 million, with 6.7 million children born annually.
The Health Minister emphasized the need to address health issues as national security and economic concerns. He noted that annually, 11 thousand mothers die during childbirth in Pakistan, a rate unmatched globally.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistani government has taken various steps in the health sector, including efforts to produce medicines and equipment locally. Mustafa Kamal stated in a media briefing that the healthcare system in the country is improving.
