Islamabad: (RightNow) The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain and strong winds in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Meanwhile, southern regions will remain hot and humid.

According to the department, 53 mm of rain was recorded in Murree and 40 mm in Attock over the past 24 hours. Strong winds and rain are expected in the next 24 hours as well.

The announcement warns of urban flooding risks in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and other areas. There is also a threat of flooding in the streams of the Pothohar region.

It is important to note that there is a risk of landslides in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Islamabad is expected to have partly cloudy weather with heavy rain.

Remember that coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan may experience light rain with partly cloudy weather, while rain is expected in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
