Islamabad: (RightNow) Senator Nasir Butt disclosed in the Senate Health Committee meeting that the original video of the PIMS incident has been removed. He stated that the current video is unacceptable and demanded the full footage be shown.

The Senate Committee meeting, chaired by Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti, was held regarding the deaths of 14 newborns at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad. The Federal Health Minister, PIMS Executive Director, and committee members attended the meeting.

The committee chairman expressed that the deaths of 14 children are heartbreaking. A complete briefing on the PIMS incident was requested during the meeting. Members visited the incident site and emphasized preventing such occurrences in the future.

It is noteworthy that a fire had previously occurred at the PIMS nurses’ hostel. Former Executive Director faces corruption allegations. Masroor Ahsan warned that if the situation persists, more incidents could happen.

PIMS administration reported that entering the nursery became difficult after the fire. A committee established by the Prime Minister presented an initial report within 48 hours, and investigations were conducted independently.
