Health Minister Mustafa Kamal accepts responsibility for PIMS tragedy, awaits inquiry report.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has taken responsibility for the PIMS tragedy, stating that he awaits the inquiry report. He assured that no responsible party will be spared.
In a Senate session, Mustafa Kamal described the death of 14 newborns as a heartbreaking incident. He further stated that he accepts his responsibility and is ready for accountability.
Mustafa Kamal expressed no objection to forming a committee but doubted any results in 40 days. He emphasized the need to improve the system, which he described as decayed.
The Health Minister revealed that 1,300 children die daily, and 11,000 mothers die annually during childbirth. He urged collective efforts to save children’s lives.
It is noteworthy that the PIMS tragedy has led to severe criticism of the government, highlighting the flaws in the healthcare system.
