Lisbon: (RightNow) Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s wedding date has been announced. Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez will marry on August 8 in Madeira.

Reports indicate that the island, where Ronaldo was born, has been chosen for the wedding. The ceremony will take place at the Funchal Cathedral Church in Madeira.

A grand reception will be held at a five-star hotel. Two floors and bars of the hotel are reserved for the wedding, fueling speculations.

Portuguese media first reported that Ronaldo would marry after the FIFA World Cup 2026. Extraordinary preparations for the wedding have also been reported.

It is noteworthy that Ronaldo and Georgina met in 2016 and got engaged in 2025. They have five children. Ronaldo’s daughter played a significant role in the marriage proposal.
