Islamabad: (RightNow) Mobile companies, with PTA’s approval, have significantly increased the prices of call and data packages. This decision has added a financial burden on mobile users as prices have risen by 19% to 33% annually.

Monthly call and data package prices have increased by up to Rs 500, while 15-day package prices have risen by Rs 300. Weekly hybrid package prices have also seen an increase of up to Rs 130.

Furthermore, three-day mobile package prices have increased by up to Rs 21, two-day packages by Rs 20, and one-day hybrid packages by Rs 5. According to PTA, this increase aims to meet the growing expectations of consumers.

This move is significant for mobile users as it directly impacts their daily lives. The price hike will require users to bear additional financial burdens, potentially leading to public backlash.

It is noteworthy that PTA has released new tariff sheets for 15 hybrid and data-only packages on its website. These sheets include complete details about the current package prices, quarterly rates, and durations offered by mobile companies.
