Islamabad: (RightNow) The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has declared a viral warning message as fake. The message was circulating on social media regarding the number 7080507-051.

The message claimed that receiving a call from this number could lead to mobile data theft. According to the message, software linked to the number could access data within 5 to 7 seconds.

PTA clarified that no such warning has been issued, and the message circulating on social media is not related to the authority.

This clarification comes at a time when public concern over cyber fraud and online misinformation is increasing in the country.

It is important to note that PTA has advised the public not to trust unverified information and to refer to PTA’s official social media accounts for authentic information.
