New Delhi: (RightNow) Bollywood actors have sharply criticized the Modi government over police actions during student protests in India. Naseeruddin Shah, Preity Zinta, Sonakshi Sinha, Shabana Azmi, and Diljit Dosanjh have expressed support for the students.
Naseeruddin Shah, in a video message, stated his solidarity with protesting students. He described the police’s use of force as a historic act and urged students not to lose hope.
Preity Zinta voiced her support for Sonam Wangchuk and the students, urging the government to initiate dialogue. She appealed to Wangchuk to end his hunger strike.
Actress Shabana Azmi joined the protesters at Jantar Mantar, emphasizing that peaceful protest is a constitutional right of every citizen and urged the government to listen to the students’ voices.
