Dhaka: (RightNow) The devastation from floods in Bangladesh continues, with the death toll reaching 54. The situation is dire in eleven districts, including Chittagong, where millions await aid.

According to Bangladesh’s Ministry of Disaster Management, Cox’s Bazar has seen the highest fatalities with 31 deaths, followed by 13 in Chittagong and 6 in Bandarban. Additionally, 3 people died in Rangamati and 1 in Moulvibazar.

Authorities have declared 59 sub-districts as disaster zones. The floods have affected 333 union councils. To assist the victims, 1,100 shelters have been established, housing over 38,000 people.

This flood poses a significant challenge for the people of Bangladesh. The severity of this natural disaster has created immense difficulties, necessitating urgent aid.
