Islamabad: (RightNow) Following the announcement of a protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), security has been tightened in Islamabad, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Major roads have been blocked with containers, and barriers have been erected at border crossings.

In the federal capital Islamabad, police, Rangers, and Frontier Corps personnel are deployed. The metro bus service is suspended, and key routes in Peshawar are also closed, causing inconvenience to citizens.

The government plans to dig trenches and set up barricades in Islamabad to prevent the protest. Police have started arresting PTI workers and leaders’ family members.

Federal Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the government will comply with court orders and will not allow anyone to block roads. He referred to the court’s decision, stating that sit-ins will not be permitted.

It is noteworthy that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan declared the protest peaceful, emphasizing their struggle for constitutional demands. He condemned the arrests.
