Washington: (RightNow) A recent survey reveals that 63% of Americans believe artificial intelligence (AI) poses a threat to humanity. The survey included 2,064 American adults, highlighting public concern over the negative impacts of technology.

According to the survey, 17% consider human extinction due to AI as ‘almost certain’, while 20% see it as a ‘significant threat’ and 26% as ‘somewhat of a threat’.

On the other hand, 15% said there is ‘very little threat’, 7% said ‘no threat’, and 15% remained uncertain.

The survey also shows a divide among supporters of former President Donald Trump, with 44% opposing AI development and 40% supporting its continuation.

It is noteworthy that concerns about AI are emerging as a new topic of debate, inviting global reflection as AI continues to develop.
