Islamabad: (RightNow) Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced a march towards Islamabad from across the country on September 20 to demand the abolition of the petroleum levy.

During a press conference in Islamabad, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stated that the public considers the petroleum levy as extortion. He mentioned that a 3% reduction in interest rates could save 1,700 billion rupees.

He further added that sit-ins are ongoing in 36 cities, and if the government continues to delay, they will end negotiations.

Hafiz Naeem criticized the IPP agreements and accused the PML-N, PPP, and PTI of being involved in fraud.

It is noteworthy that Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed its intention to participate in PTI’s APC and considers Imran Khan a political prisoner.
