Lahore: (RightNow) Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, announces efforts to boost Pakistan’s IT exports to $50 billion. She made this statement during an event at a private university in Lahore.

Shaza Fatima further stated that 100,000 trained IT professionals could contribute $1 billion to Pakistan’s economy. Preparing human resources for increased IT exports is the government’s top priority.

She emphasized that the government is focusing on continuous growth in exports in collaboration with the IT industry. Improving Pakistan’s marketing and global image is essential for IT sector development.

The Federal Minister highlighted the shortage of skilled human resources in Pakistan’s IT sector. Proper training from school to university is crucial, and the government is conducting large-scale training programs.

It is noteworthy that Shaza Fatima mentioned the importance of ease of business in the IT industry. In places like Dubai or Singapore, a tech company can register in minutes; a conducive business environment for IT investment is necessary in Pakistan.
