AJK’s New 8-Member Cabinet Sworn In, Begins Administrative Duties

AJK’s new cabinet takes oath, marking the start of administrative duties and expected progress on development agendas.

Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s new 8-member cabinet took oath today at the Presidential House. Acting President Chaudhry Tariq Farooq administered the oath to the members. Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani was also present at the ceremony.

The cabinet members include Waqar Noor, Azhar Sadiq, Saqib Majeed, Dr. Mustafa Bashir, Raja Riyaz, Engineer Umair Naeem, Abdul Rehman Arain, and Sardar Mir Akbar. These ministers have pledged to fulfill their responsibilities according to the constitution.

The ceremony was attended by Shah Ghulam Qadir, President of PML-N AJK, former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, assembly members, senior government officials, and a large number of citizens.

Following the formation of the new cabinet, the government has expressed expectations to initiate progress on developmental and public welfare agendas. Initially, ministers will be assigned departmental portfolios.

It is noteworthy that Iftikhar Gilani assumed the office of Prime Minister on August 28, and with the completion of the cabinet, the government’s administrative structure is now complete.
