Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered action against officials involved in the PIMS hospital fire incident. He called an emergency meeting of the Ministry of Health upon returning from Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting was attended by Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal and other senior officials. The Prime Minister was briefed on the fire investigation and health ministry affairs. He instructed immediate measures for hospital improvement.

The Prime Minister directed the Health Minister to ensure his personal presence at PIMS hospital. He emphasized enhancing medical facilities and implementing safety measures.

The causes of the PIMS fire remain unclear. A parliamentary committee has revealed the failure to determine the incident’s causes. Various officials have given conflicting statements on possible fire causes.

It is noteworthy that serious irregularities have been identified in Islamabad’s health system. The National Assembly committee presented a report to the Prime Minister on hospital mismanagement and corruption.
