Sindh Assembly unanimously rejects proposals for new provinces, emphasizing unity and integrity.
Karachi: (RightNow) The Sindh Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution rejecting any proposal for the creation and division of new provinces. The resolution was presented by Nisar Ahmed Khuhro of the Pakistan People’s Party and was approved by all members present.
During the resolution, members of the Pakistan People’s Party stood with banners reading ‘Sindh is Motherland.’ The resolution rejects any proposal for the division or alteration of Sindh’s boundaries.
The assembly opposed any plan to separate any district or area from Sindh. The resolution emphasizes the commitment to not compromise on Sindh’s unity and territorial integrity.
The resolution calls for respecting the constitutional rights of all federal units and states that any changes should be made under the constitution and with public consent.
It is noteworthy that this resolution by the Sindh Assembly will be sent to the President, Prime Minister, Chairman Senate, and Speaker of the National Assembly to protect Sindh’s historical and constitutional identity.
